More sad news

It seems I missed this when it happened, but the First Lady of Trek passed away recently. Majel Barret, the wife of legendary Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, was in every episode of the original Star Trek series. Remember her? No? Seriously? She was the voice of the ships on board computer system.

You might also remember her from roles in both the ST: The Next Generation and ST: Deep Space Nine where she played as Lt. Troi’s mother.

I believe she was also cast as the voice of the computer in the new Star Trek movie, due out next year, by J.J. Abrams.

Barret was 76.
